Day 7

Well the day started, I got to sleep in a bit till 9:15 or so.. I am feeling better today, congestion gone just a little stuffy.

We start our day as usual, eating breakfast on the porch overlooking the beach. The neighbors are out doing the same, we exchange pleasantries with them and continue to eat out food. Looks to be a gorgeous day.

Not too much is planned today. I call the Seabrook golf course to see if they have any early tee times. Noonish is about the best they can do. So I pass for today, I may try tomorrow.

So we start out going to the beach. Slather down with sunscreen and try to find all the stuff we want to bring. A few small quibbles ensue, but we eventually make it.

Elijah and I make a tall sand mountain, for the army men to climb, and Krissy helps with the alligators and barrier buildings.

We are about done and then Elijah says he has to go potty. The little woman takes him up to the villa and also makes lunch.

I sit down at the beach and ready my book The Revolution: A Mainfesto which is excellent btw.

I also enjoyed watching the other people. Saw a middle aged couple playing golf with their make shift holes and pins, quite ingenious. Also saw a make shift bouche-ball court. Wow the beach can be usefull.

Kris comes back with sandwiches and veggies. We eat and then figure the beach is getting too hot and we need to actually be able to swim, without fear of getting bit.

Which I think did happen to me. Not sure what is was but I had a bunch of small mosquito like bites on my foot.

So go back up the boardwalk to the villa and get the bikes. It is a short ride to the swimming pool. Elijah really likes the bike rides. But then again he just sits in his cushy pull behind and enjoys the scenery.

We play there for some time. Elijah is still a bit scared to try to swim on his own. I guess I need to get him in lessons. I teach a few of the kids there, how to make huge splashes with Can-Openers. Then I got about 5 or 6 of them to jump in a once and make a huge splash. I was trying to get some of the people laying around all wet, but no luck..

We leave the pool around 4ish and head back to get showers for dinner.

We get the Bohickett Marina

and have dinner at some local Bar and Grill. We check out a few of the local shops and then get ready for our sunset dolphin watching cruise.

We see all kinds of things.

An old fishing boat ship wreck.

Some nice houses.

A live shrimp boat, in action.

Dolphins

Elijah "steering" the boat.

And of course the sunset.

We get back to the dock a little after 9. The ice cream shop on the Marian is still open, we check it out, but alas(as is most places) they don't have soy ice cream. So we goto the grocery story and pick up some ice cream for Kris and I, and some Popsicles for Elijah.

Elijah wants to eat his in a cone...

It has been 7 days in the sun and almost no casualites. Almost. I fogot to put sunscreen on the top of my feet..

Let me tell you, it don't feel good.

Kristina tries to help out with Aloe.

Only time will heal it though..

It is closing in on 11pm. So I am drinking my last few beers and heading off to bed.

Tomorrow is the last full day in Sea Brook. No ideas what we are going to do.

You guys sure got lucky! That sunken fishing ship was caused by the pilot not being able to see over the dash. You are lucky that didn't happen to you when Elijiah was steering!

Hello Matt, Kris & Elijah!
Sounds like you are having a fun filled week with lots of adventures! I love the vacation blog and the story lines with the pictures. Makes me feel like I'm ALMOST there with you (until I look out the window and see I'm still in rainy, cold OHIO). I hope you can bring some of the sun & warmth with you when you head back home.
Aunt Teresa :-)
